It all rests on God
Intercessors Of The Lamb
I said, “How can we pray for you today?” She said, “Maybe you could pray for my headache. I have a headache.” I thought to myself, “Oh God, thank You. That’s all she wants us to pray for—a headache. I mean, we certainly should be able to get the grace for a headache!” See how much of self is still here. How much I thought it depended on my partner and me. We both kind of looked at each other and breathed a sigh of relief that this was all she wanted. So we just said this simple little prayer, “God, would You touch her and take away her headache?” That was all, and she jumped up out of the chair, energized, and said, “It’s gone! It’s gone!” We said, “It is?!” “Yes!” I said, “Well, that’s wonderful. How long have you had this headache?” “Five years.” So God was teaching us. Every time we pray, He teaches us something. He teaches us that this kind of ministry is for children because children know they don’t have any power. They know it all rests on God. They just ask. That’s the key: it all rests on God.

USCCB - (NAB) - December 13, 2007:
"The afflicted and the needy seek water in vain, their tongues are parched with thirst. I, the LORD, will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will open up rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the broad valleys; I will turn the desert into a marshland, and the dry ground into springs of water. I will plant in the desert the cedar, acacia, myrtle, and olive; I will set in the wasteland the cypress, together with the plane tree and the pine, That all may see and know, observe and understand, That the hand of the LORD has done this, the Holy One of Israel has created it."
Prayer for Today: May all His people be filled with hope and joyful anticipation.

Prayer warriors needed
Intercessors Of The Lamb:
"God wants us to bloom wherever we are planted. Wherever God has placed us, that’s where He wants us to pray. Intercession is a ministry for all people in all walks of life. God asks us to pray where we pray best—right where He has placed us. Intercession fits into any vocational call because it comes out of our baptismal vocation, which we all have in common. That’s the beauty of it. We’re all in this together as a Church, as God’s people. All of us together make up the Body of Christ. Together we focus on Jesus, and together we intercede for the Father’s greater honor and glory."
Excerpt from Interceding with Jesus, Chapter 4, 2000.
Let's pray for all who the Lord brings to this site...whether they are looking for prayers, or to join us in intercession.
for a friend's dad
Could you keep my Dad in your prayers today (Wednesday)? He is having a stent put in his corotid artery. He has had this before (in the other side) and it is pretty "routine" but prayers are always welcomed. Please keep the doctors and nurses in prayer as well.
Thank you very much.
Alicia
Thank you very much.

Prayer for the Unborn
Our Lady of Guadalupe Patroness of the unborn
The Lord a while back lead us to pray for the children, he is now asking us to take a step back and go even further in our prayer to cover all children from the moment of conception on. John the Baptist lept in his mother's womb when he heard Mary's greeting. If children can experience joy and grace at that stage then the opposite is certainly true also. Let us pray for their protection from the evil one who has targeted them from the very beginning. Let us also pray for all the children that received soul wounds so early in their life that it is beyond their memory...may healing be theirs.

USCCB - (NAB) - December 12, 2007:
"When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.” And Mary said: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior.” "

Meal Time
Intercessors Of The Lamb
"We come to the table every day, no matter how busy we are, even though we might be eating on the run, but we have to be fed. Have you ever thought at Thanksgiving, "Oh I'm never going eat again? I'm just stuffed". But we are there the next day. We have to come back to the table of the Lord, as well. We have to come back into His presence. He is there for us, a personal friend. He is there for us as our Shepherd. He is there for us to feed us so that we do not fall by the wayside. We must make our prayer time a priority. If He is our friend, if He is our Beloved, if this time with Him is our top priority, if we are convinced that it is the one thing necessary, then we will be there. We will be there seeking God in quiet communication. We will come apart and simply rest awhile in his presence. Each day you need to have a quiet time. It might just be that you have to go in the bathroom and lock the door. It might be a little prayer chair you have or a prayer closet, some place where the family knows that this is your time and you can have that space because God said, "I want you to know Me. But you need to be still. You need to be quiet.""

Live the Life
Preach the gospel to all the world, and if necessary, use words.
-st. francis of assisi
Were passengers aboard the train
Silent little lambs amidst the pain
Thats no longer good enough
And when its time to speak our faith
We use a language no one can explain
Thats no longer good enough
And God knows its a shame
As we look to pass the flame
We are not the worthy bearers of his name
Chorus:
For the world to know the truth
There can be no greater proof
Than to live the life, live the life
Theres no love thats quite as pure
Theres no pain we cant endure
If we live the life, live the life
Be a light for all to see
For every act of love will set you free
Theres something beautiful and bold
The power of a million human souls
Come together as one
And each in turn goes out to lead
Another by his word, his love, his deed
Now the circle is done
It all comes back to one
For it is he and he alone
Who has lived the only perfect life weve known
Chorus
setting captives free

Prayer for Healing the Family Tree
Prayer for Healing the Family Tree
Heavenly Father, I come before You as Your child, in great need of Your help. I have physical health needs, emotional needs, spiritual needs, and interpersonal needs. Many of my problems have been caused by my own failures, neglect and sinfulness, for which I humbly beg Your forgiveness, Lord. But I also ask You to forgive the sins of my ancestors whose failures have left their effects on me in the form of unwanted tendencies, behavior patterns and defects in body, mind and spirit. Heal me, Lord, of all these disorders.
With Your help I sincerely forgive everyone, especially living or dead members of my family tree, who have directly offended me or my loved ones in any way, or those whose sins have resulted in our present sufferings and disorders. In the name of Your divine Son Jesus, and in the power of His Holy Spirit, I ask You, Father, to deliver me and my entire family tree from the influence of the evil one. Free all living and dead members of my family tree, including those in adoptive relationships, and those in extended family relationships, from every contaminating form of bondage. By Your loving concern for us, heavenly Father, and by the shed blood of your Precious Son Jesus, I beg You to extend Your blessing to me and all my living and deceased relatives. Heal every negative effect transmitted through all past generations, and prevent such negative effects in future generations of my family tree.
I symbolically place the Cross of Jesus over the head of each person in my family tree, and between each generation; I ask You to let the cleansing blood of Jesus purify the blood lines in my family lineage. Set Your protective angels to encamp around us, and permit Archangel Raphael, the patron of healing, to administer Your divine healing power to all of us, even in areas of genetic disability. Give special power to our family members' guardian angels to heal, protect, guide and encourage each of us in all our needs. Let Your healing power be released at this very moment and let it continue as long as Your sovereignty permits.
In our family tree, Lord, replace all bondage with a holy bonding in family love. And let there be an ever deeper bonding with You, Lord, by the Holy Spirit, to Your Son Jesus. Let the family of the Holy Trinity pervade our family with its tender, warm, loving presence, so that our family may recognize and manifest that love in all our relationships. All of our unknown needs we include with this petition that we pray in Jesus precious Name.
Amen.

Be strong, fear Not!
USCCB - (NAB) - December 10, 2007:
"Say to those whose hearts are frightened: Be strong, fear not! Here is your God, he comes with vindication; With divine recompense he comes to save you. Then will the eyes of the blind be opened, the ears of the deaf be cleared; Then will the lame leap like a stag, then the tongue of the mute will sing. Streams will burst forth in the desert, and rivers in the steppe."
Prayer for Today: Let us pray for all that are facing any type of anxiety or fear this Advent Season...may the Lord make His love shown and liberate hearts in a new and powerful way.
In Jesus' Name...Amen!
God Will Make A Way
God will make a way
God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way He will make a way
By a roadway in the wilderness
He'll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and earth will fade
But His word will still remain
He will do something new today.

Taking Baths
Taking Baths : A Catholic Reflection:
"Before Christmas, we must take a bath. In fact, we should take two baths, a baptismal bath 'in water for the sake of reform' and a bath 'in the Holy Spirit and fire' (Mt 3:11). Unlike the bath in water, this fire-baptism removes impurities from even the most precious metals."

The woman of Genesis
Intercessors Of The Lamb
"Mary’s obedience didn’t just stop there at the Annunciation, we see it at Cana as well because she asked Jesus really to do a miracle when she said, “They have no wine.” Now that seems simple but Jesus did not seem to be aware of that and He seemed surprised at the request and He says, “Woman what is that to you and to Me? My hour is not yet come.” It is interesting that in this Scripture, we now hear Jesus calling Mary, “Woman.”
At the beginning of this passage, John writes, “The Mother of Jesus was there.” But now Jesus did not call her, “Mother,” but, “Woman.” He knows, as she herself knew, that she is the woman of Genesis which the Father spoke about when He said to satan, to the serpent. “I will be put enmity between you and the woman.” Our Lady knew her identity! She is still prompted by the Holy Spirit who is her spouse. She is Our Lady of Light, spouse of the Holy Spirit! And, it was the prompting of the Holy Spirit at that wedding that made Mary ask for the miracle. The Spirit was letting her know, “They have no wine.” He is the New Wine. The Spirit was letting her know, “They need Me.” "

"The Feast of the Immaculate Conception
The doctrine of the Immaculate Conception is the doctrine that the Virgin Mary was conceived without original sin, that twist in our nature that makes our will unable to follow what it knows to be right. It was this grace that enabled Mary to give a true and considered “Yes” to the request, conveyed by the Angel Gabriel, that she should consent to be the mother of the incarnate God. The doctrine was almost universally believed over the centuries and but was only formally defined as a doctrine of the Church by Pope Pius IX in 1854. It is one of the Marian doctrines that Islam shares with the Catholic Church."

Calling in deeper...
Intercessors Of The Lamb
Today He is calling us in a deeper way to be the light of the world—to be so filled with this consecration, His holiness, His Truth, that we will be a light to all the nations. He wants us to be an epiphany of His love and His presence. He wants us to be holy. He wants us to be a royal priesthood. He wants us to be Church and to look like His Church. So I believe He is telling us to go forth now as the prophetic Church, as the Church that has learned to listen to Him everyday, and can take His words out. He is calling us to be a Church that has received His gift of Wisdom and knows the secrets of His heart and what the Father has taught. We need to become a prophetic Church again. I believe this is manifested in one of the beautiful gifts that we will hear about today in Scripture—the incense of prayer. This is being given to us today in a deeper way so that we can come forth and be this house of prayer and this prophetic Church.

Is 29:17-24
Thus says the Lord GOD: But a very little while, and Lebanon shall be changed into an orchard, and the orchard be regarded as a forest! On that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book; And out of gloom and darkness, the eyes of the blind shall see. The lowly will ever find joy in the LORD, and the poor rejoice in the Holy One of Israel."
Let us praise Him NOW for what He has done, for what He is doing and for what He will continue to do in the future.
Just add your own personal prayer at this moment and give Him thanks and praise for all that He has blessed you with. Praise Him even for those things that you can't quite understand...He WILL bring good out of them if we allow Him to.

Praise the Lord, Jerusalem — Sion, praise your God. For he has strengthened the bars of your gates, he has blessed your children. He keeps your borders in peace, he fills you with the richest wheat. He sends out his command over the earth, and swiftly runs his word. He sends down snow that is like wool, frost that is like ashes. He sends hailstones like crumbs — who can withstand his cold? He will send out his word, and all will be melted; his spirit will breathe, and the waters will flow. He proclaims his word to Jacob, his laws and judgements to Israel. He has not done this for other nations: he has not shown them his judgements."

Gunman kills 8, self at Omaha mall - Crime & courts- msnbc.com
We need to pray not only for these families, but for all the potential 'gunmen' out there. Earlier this week the Lord was leading us to pray for the children to be released from darkness. I think we need to hike up those prayers. Especially for media influence to be broken (darkness and evil that is coming in from movies, tv, music, internet, video games). Pray, pray, pray for the children! Pray also for their parents...the adults too need to be living in freedom (from evil) in order to be able to be obedient to the Lord in how to raise them.

For our Priests
Spirit Daily - Daily spiritual news from around the world:
"Can you imagine the guts, the faith, it takes, in these times, to be a priest? These days, we can say that good priests (and they're in the majority) are true heroes. They suffer a white martyrdom."
Let us pray today for our Priests and Bishops and for all stepping out in obedience to the Lord in ministry, by dedicating their lives to Him.
In a very particular way, I pray for my own Parish...St. Joseph's and for our Pastor, Fr. Ron. May we lead the way in serving Him!
Whatever
Intercessors Of The Lamb
"Our Lady said, “Now you do whatever He tells you.” She said that to the servants. Hopefully we are all servants of the Lord! She is saying that to us as well. “You do whatever He tells you.” That “whatever” can be frightening. What does that mean –“whatever”? We do not always know. It simply means whatever - whatever God’s word is, whatever God’s will is, whatever God wants. This is exactly what she is asking of us. “Do whatever He tells you.” Much of the time, we are not listening. We do not know what He is saying. That is why the contemplative posture is so important. We must be able to can hear what God is asking. We can hear His preference and then we can do whatever His word is showing us. Obedience is also the fruit of humility. There is only one way to know if we are humble and that is to ask ourselves, “Are we being obedient?” If we are being obedient to God’s way, God’s preference, then that is humility. That is the kind of obedience, the kind of humility, that will crush pride – that will crush the serpent’s head. It will crush satan."

"St Nicholas
He was bishop of Myra, in Lycia (now part of Turkey) and died about the middle of the fourth century. He has been venerated throughout the Church, especially since the 10th century. Because of his help to the poor he is the patron saint of pawnbrokers, whose insignia of three golden balls represent the three purses of gold he is said to have given secretly to a poor man who could not afford dowries for his three daughters. "
Gracious and good Lord,
we bless you on this feast of St. Nicholas, your servant,
who is an example to us of a life of charity and love.
May we see in his life an invitation to imitate his good deeds.
Make us always mindful of the needs of others
and help us rejoice in the abundance of your goodness around us.

Preparing for the Feast
From Fr. Ron (taken from this week's buletin)
"The appearance of snow brings to mind the passage from Isaiah 1:18:
“Come now, and let us reason together”, says Yahweh. “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall
be as white as snow.” Yes, when we confess our sins, they are washed away and our souls become
as white as snow. This Advent Season is a time of preparing for the coming of the Lord in
a new way into our lives.
When we are expecting a guest, we prepare for their coming by cleaning up our house. One way
for us to prepare for Christmas is to go to confession and have our souls become as white as snow
to receive Jesus. The sacrament of reconciliation is a sacrament to receive the mercy of God.
When we receive that sacrament, our sins go on the cross of Jesus. It is there that He pays the
penalty of our sins and we are washed clean, not by soap and water, but by His blood.
Mary, in some of her apparitions, is requesting monthly confession. As our mother, she knows
what is spiritually good for us. Do a spiritual good for yourself this Advent and go to confession
and have your soul become as white as snow. Cards are available in the foyer to help you in examining
your conscience and in reciting the Act of Contrition. Next week, opportunities for confession
will be listed. If you are at the North Shore Mall, you can visit the Carmelite Chapel or in
Boston; St. Anthony’s Shrine. Both places schedule confession many times each day."
For those of us who may need a little extra help to get ourselves to Confession...may His mercy and grace be abundant.
For the Anzalone Family
Could you please keep this family in your prayers. They are a local homeschooling family and the dad (Ted) was in an accident earlier this year. If you could please keep them covered in prayer...especially at 1PM today. Thank you.

I can Only Imagine
I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When your face
Is before me
I can only imagine
[Chorus:]
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine
[Chorus]
I can only imagine [x2]
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship you

Intercessors Of The Lamb
When Mother Teresa of Calcutta was alive she came to the United States and said that out of all the countries in the world, America was the poorest of the poor. We are starving! Maybe it is because we are so busy talking that we are not listening, we are not receiving, we are not being fed in God’s presence. Jesus said, “Blessed are you who hunger and thirst for holiness (for My presence, for a relationship). You shall be satisfied!” One of the first things He did after the Resurrection was to feed His apostles after they had been fishing. They were out there fishing and, as usual, they caught nothing. We will not catch anything either. Jesus calls out to them; they did not recognize Him. He was in His resurrected form here. No one recognized Him. No one except John the contemplative. He knew the voice. He said, “It is the Lord!” Jesus called out, “Children, have you caught anything yet?” He said, “Cast your net on the right side.” That, for us, is the contemplative side, the receiving side. The left side, the left brain, is more the masculine part of us, where we are doing, speaking. The right brain is the receiving side. It is where we receive, where we are fed. Then we can go about the Father’s business in whatever He wants.
Excerpt from Mother Nadine’s, “Lord, Teach Us To Pray,” Springfield, MO, 2006
May we Feed on the Lord and then in turn be able to feed others in whatever way He wants. May this Christmas trully be a Feast!
The Feast
USCCB - (NAB) - December 5, 2007:
"Reading 1 Is 25:6-10a
On this mountain the LORD of hosts will provide for all peoples A feast of rich food and choice wines, juicy, rich food and pure, choice wines. On this mountain he will destroy the veil that veils all peoples, The web that is woven over all nations; he will destroy death forever. The Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from all faces; The reproach of his people he will remove from the whole earth; for the LORD has spoken."
Prayer for Today: May we partake of the Feast that the Lord has laid out before us...by receiving Him in the Eucharist and by daily reading of His Word.
Feeding on the Word
Universalis: Office of Readings
A sermon by St Bernard
Let the word of the Lord come to us
We know that the coming of the Lord is threefold: the third coming is between the other two and it is not visible in the way they are. At his first coming the Lord was seen on earth and lived among men, who saw him and hated him. At his last coming All flesh shall see the salvation of our God, and They shall look on him whom they have pierced. In the middle, the hidden coming, only the chosen see him, and they see him within themselves; and so their souls are saved. The first coming was in flesh and weakness, the middle coming is in spirit and power, and the final coming will be in glory and majesty.
This middle coming is like a road that leads from the first coming to the last. At the first, Christ was our redemption; at the last, he will become manifest as our life; but in this middle way he is our rest and our consolation.
If you think that I am inventing what I am saying about the middle coming, listen to the Lord himself: If anyone loves me, he will keep my words, and the Father will love him, and we shall come to him. Elsewhere I have read: Whoever fears the Lord does good things. – but I think that what was said about whoever loves him was more important: that whoever loves him will keep his words. Where are these words to be kept? In the heart certainly, as the Prophet says I have hidden your sayings in my heart so that I do not sin against you. Keep the word of God in that way: Blessed are those who keep it. Let it penetrate deep into the core of your soul and then flow out again in your feelings and the way you behave; because if you feed your soul well it will grow and rejoice. Do not forget to eat your bread, or your heart will dry up. Remember, and your soul will grow fat and sleek.
If you keep God’s word like this, there is no doubt that it will keep you, for the Son will come to you with the Father: the great Prophet will come, who will renew Jerusalem, and he is the one who makes all things new. For this is what this coming will do: just as we have been shaped in the earthly image, so will we be shaped in the heavenly image. Just as the old Adam was poured into the whole man and took possession of him, so in turn will our whole humanity be taken over by Christ, who created all things, has redeemed all things, and will glorify all things.

A Living Prayer
In this world I walk alone with no place to call my home
But there's One who holds my hand
The rugged road through barren lands
The way is dark, the road is steep
But He's become my eyes to see
The strength to climb, my griefs to bear
This Savior lives inside me there
In Your love I find release
A haven from my unbelief
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer my God to thee
In these trials of life I find
Another Voice inside my mind
He comforts me and bids me live
Inside the love the Father gives
In your love I find release
A haven from my unbelief
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer my God to thee
take my life and let me be
A living prayer my God to thee

“Prayer is the Way of Childhood”
The way of childhood is the way of littleness. Jesus said that we need to change; we need to repent. We need to become little or He said that we can not enter into His kingdom (Mt 18:2-4). Prayer is a striving to enter more and more into His kingdom by becoming little. This is totally against our culture, but the Bible cuts right across the culture."
Dear Lord may we trully be as little children in Your sight.

Thanksgiving
With what purpose, Lord, do you stay away, hide yourself in time of need and trouble? The wicked in their pride persecute the weak, trap them in the plots they have devised. The sinner glories in his desires, the miser congratulates himself. The sinner in his arrogance rejects the Lord: “there is no God, no retribution”. This is what he thinks – and all goes well for him. Your judgements are far beyond his comprehension: he despises all who stand against him.
The sinner says to himself: “I will stand firm; nothing can touch me, from generation to generation”. His mouth is full of malice and deceit, under his tongue hide trouble and distress. He lies in ambush by the villages, he kills the innocent in some secret place. He watches the weak, he hides like a lion in its lair, and makes plans. He plans to rob the weak, lure him to his trap and rob him. He rushes in, makes a dive, and the poor victim is caught. For he has said to himself, “God has forgotten. He is not watching, he will never see”."
Come Lord Jesus...we need You! Now...more then ever.

The calf and the young lion shall browse together,

Today's prayer: Let us pray for all children, that they be able have the freedom that the Lord has destined for them...freedom from the world of darkness that so strongly tries to ensnare them from early on...trying to steal their destiny.

“It is Love That Heals"
Intercessors Of The Lamb
"I remember when the Lord was first starting to teach me this lesson. He said, “Just bring your hurts to Me. Bring them to Me.” So, I did. I would simply mention something, which I noticed that He was bringing to my mind - things that might have been repressed or perhaps put on the back burner because they are “little” things. But these things are not little to Him. He would bring them to my mind and I would, in turn, bring each thing to Him. Suddenly each thing would just disappear. He would bring another hurt to my mind. I would bring that to Him and it would disappear. This happened for about thirty minutes. It was wonderful! Do you remember when you were little and you had an owie? You would take it to your mother and she would just kiss it away. He just kisses our owies and they go away. It was so wonderful! I remember that I almost hated the fact that I could think of no more owies. I just loved having everything kissed away. This is what He wants to do for us every day. He wants to heal us, to make us whole."
---Mother Nadine
On the sidebar under '*Notes' there is a list of our active prayer requests and also of those prayer requests that have been answered already(praise reports)... please join us in praying and don't forget to bring your own 'owies' to the Lord. He desperately wants to heal His children, but He needs to be approached and asked (He won't just interfere in our lives without our consent)...nothing is too big or too small for Him...nor for the prayer warriors in this group to pray over either.
If you post a comment under a particular prayer request...be it something simple like 'Amen' or 'I'm praying' then you can choose to receive updates by e-mail for that particular thread.

What Are We Singing: The Days of Elijah
"Sing On!
The next time you are in a worship service and are singing the now wildly popular Days of Elijah; think about what you are saying… and what you are willing to do.
Are you ready to gather in the harvest? Are you ready to shout, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord!”?"

Thirsting for God
O God, you are my God, I wait for you from the dawn. My soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you. I came to your sanctuary,as one in a parched and waterless land, so that I could see your might and your glory. My lips will praise you, for your mercy is better than life itself. Thus I will bless you throughout my life, and raise my hands in prayer to your name; my soul will be filled as if by rich food, and my mouth will sing your praises and rejoice. I will remember you as I lie in bed, I will think of you in the morning, for you have been my helper, and I will take joy in the protection of your wings. My soul clings to you; your right hand raises me up."

USCCB - (NAB) - December 2, 2007:
"Reading II
Rom 13:11-14
Brothers and sisters: You know the time; it is the hour now for you to awake from sleep. For our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed; the night is advanced, the day is at hand. Let us then throw off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; let us conduct ourselves properly as in the day, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in promiscuity and lust, not in rivalry and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh."
Prayer for Today: On this first day of Advent, let us not only prepare our houses for Christmas but our hearts and souls too.

"The Summons
1. Will you come and follow me if I but call your name? Will you go where you don't know and never be the same? Will you let my love be shown? Will you let my name be known, will you let my life be grown in you and you in me?
2. Will you leave yourself behind if I but call your name? Will you care for cruel and kind and never be the same? Will you risk the hostile stare should your life attract or scare? Will you let me answer prayer in you and you in me?
3. Will you let the blinded see if I but call your name? Will you set the prisoners free and never be the same? Will you kiss the leper clean and do such as this unseen, and admit to what I mean in you and you in me?
4. Will you love the 'you' you hide if I but call your name? Will you quell the fear inside and never be the same? Will you use the faith you've found to reshape the world around, through my sight and touch and sound in you and you in me?
5. Lord your summons echoes true when you but call my name. Let me turn and follow you and never be the same. In Your company I'll go where Your love and footsteps show. Thus I'll move and live and grow in you and you in me."

St. Andrew Feast Day
Universalis: Today:
"St Andrew the Apostle
He was born in Bethsaida, in Galilee, and worked as a fisherman. He may have been a disciple of St John the Baptist. He became one of the first to follow Jesus and introduced his brother, Simon Peter, to him. As one of the twelve Apostles he was widely venerated in ancient times, and became patron saint of Scotland because according to legend some of his bones were brought there and buried at the place where the town of St Andrew’s now stands."

Prayers for my dad, please
As some of you know, he's been in a local nursing home for almost a year now. Recently the opportunity to move him to St. Joseph's Manor in Brockton, has come up. We are investigating this for him and could use some prayers to help in the discernment process. It is a lot further away from me so I'm sort of divided over this, but if it is the best for him and within God's will then ofcourse I'll be thrilled. He'd be down the street from my brother and most importantly within a Catholic setting...the residence has a chapel and they hold Mass there each week. I'm going to go over there this afternoon with my brother to check it out. Please keep all of us in your prayers.
While we are at it let's also pray for all the elderly in nursing homes and their families, and for those that are in the process of making this very difficult decision.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life."
May we keep this prayer in our hearts as we get ready to begin our preparations for Christmas. Spreading God's love to all we meet.
I Surrender All
USCCB - (NAB) - November 28, 2007:
"You had the vessels of his temple brought before you, so that you and your nobles, your wives and your entertainers, might drink wine from them; and you praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, that neither see nor hear nor have intelligence. But the God in whose hand is your life breath and the whole course of your life, you did not glorify."
Prayer for Today: May we put away all of our 'false idols' and glorify God alone!

We constantly thank God for you because as soon as you heard the message that we brought you as God’s message, you accepted it for what it really is, God’s message and not some human thinking; and it is still a living power among you who believe it."
Praying that we may live in intimate relationship with Our Lord Jesus Christ...listening for God's messages and promptly obeying...no matter the cost.

Christian Unity
ANALYSIS: Will Anglicans Come Home to Rome? - Catholic Online:
"Sources indicate that a formal request from a large group of Anglicans for full communion with the Catholic Church is also to be discussed. Bishops of the “Traditional Anglican Communion” (TAC) officially petitioned for what they called a “full, corporate, sacramental union” with the Roman Catholic Church. The letter was personally delivered to the Holy See by their representative. "
Continued prayers that true Christian Unity may one day be achieved.

"Prayers and Intercessions
Our Saviour has made us into a royal priesthood offering acceptable sacrifices to God. Let us thank him and ask him: - Lord, help us to serve God.
Christ, eternal Priest, you conferred your holy priesthood on your people.
Grant that we may ceaselessly offer acceptable sacrifices to God.
Be generous with the gifts of your Spirit:
patience, kindness and gentleness.
Give us the gift of loving you,
so that we may possess you, for you yourself are love.
Give us the gift of doing good,
so that we may praise you simply by living.
Grant that we may seek whatever is best for our brethren
and ease their path to salvation."

From Simeon Peter, servant and apostle of Jesus Christ; to all who treasure the same faith as ourselves, given through the righteousness of our God and saviour Jesus Christ. May you have more and more grace and peace as you come to know our Lord more and more.
By his divine power, he has given us all the things that we need for life and for true devotion, bringing us to know God himself, who has called us by his own glory and goodness. In making these gifts, he has given us the guarantee of something very great and wonderful to come: through them you will be able to share the divine nature and to escape corruption in a world that is sunk in vice. But to attain this, you will have to do your utmost yourselves, adding goodness to the faith that you have, understanding to your goodness, self-control to your understanding, patience to your self-control, true devotion to your patience, kindness towards your fellow men to your devotion, and, to this kindness, love. If you have a generous supply of these, they will not leave you ineffectual or unproductive: they will bring you to a real knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But without them a man is blind or else short-sighted; he has forgotten how his past sins were washed away. Brothers, you have been called and chosen: work all the harder to justify it. If you do all these things there is no danger that you will ever fall away. In this way you will be granted admittance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ."
Prayer for Today: May we be filled with Faith, Goodness, Understanding, Self-Control, Patience, True Devotion, Kindness and Love.
Maye each one of us and our family members be able to 'escape corruption in a world that is sunk in vice'.
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit! Amen.

Prayers for the Jenard Family

Hi, Prayer Warriors,
I would like to ask for your prayers for the Jenard family. I met Carol and her daughter Jamie after the 9am Mass today. Jamie's dad is at Brigham & Women's Hospital with cancer in multiple locations. In addition to your prayers and sacrifices for this intention, I'd like to ask if anyone would be interested, and available, to come pray at the hospital.
I believe that the Lord has something special for this family as this is their first year at St. Joseph School. Jamie is in 6th or 7th grade. School families are helping them with their school obligations and meals twice a week. I asked Carol what she needed at this time and she said that all they need is our prayers, and for the husband to come home.
God bless you.

Come, Now is the Time to Worship
Prayer for Today: That all will give their heart to the King of kings!
Thy kingdom come
Universalis: Office of Readings
From a discourse of Origen on prayer
Thy kingdom come
The coming of the kingdom of God, says our Lord and Saviour, does not admit of observation, and there will be no-one to say “Look here! Look there!” For the kingdom of God is within us and in our hearts. And so it is beyond doubt that whoever prays for the coming of the kingdom of God within himself is praying rightly, praying for the kingdom to dawn in him, bear fruit and reach perfection. For God reigns in every saint, and every saint obeys God’s spiritual laws — God, who dwells in him just as he dwells in any well-ordered city. The Father is present in him and in his soul Christ reigns alongside the Father, as it is said: We will come to him and make our dwelling with him.
Therefore, as we continue to move forward without ceasing, the kingdom of God within us will reach its perfection in us at that moment when the saying in the Apostle is fulfilled, that Christ, His enemies all made subject to Him, shall deliver the kingdom to God the Father that God may be All in All.
For this reason let us pray without ceasing, our souls filled by a desire made divine by the Word Himself. Let us pray to our Father in heaven: hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come.
There is something important that we need to understand about the kingdom of God: just as righteousness has no partnership with lawlessness, just as light has nothing in common with darkness and Christ has no agreement with Belial, so the kingdom of God and a kingdom of sin cannot co-exist.
So if we want God to reign within us, on no account may sin rule in our mortal body but let us mortify our earthly bodies and let us be made fruitful by the Spirit. Then we will be a spiritual garden of Eden for God to walk in. God will rule in us with Christ who will be seated in us on the right hand of God — God, the spiritual power that we pray to receive — until he makes his enemies (who are within us) into his footstool and pours out on us all authority, all power, all strength.
This can happen to any one of us and death, the last enemy may be destroyed, so that in us Christ says Death, where is your sting? Death, where is your victory? So let our corruptibility be clothed today with holiness and incorruption. With Death dead, let our mortality be cloaked in the Father’s immortality. With God ruling in us, let us be immersed in the blessings of regeneration and resurrection.

A Call to Worship
Universalis: Morning Prayer (Lauds):
"Psalm 94 (95)
A call to worship
Come, let us rejoice in the Lord, let us acclaim God our salvation. Let us come before him proclaiming our thanks, let us acclaim him with songs. For the Lord is a great God, a king above all gods. For he holds the depths of the earth in his hands, and the peaks of the mountains are his. For the sea is his: he made it; and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us worship and bow down, bend the knee before the Lord who made us; for he himself is our God and we are his flock, the sheep that follow his hand. If only, today, you would listen to his voice: “Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, on the day of Massah in the desert, when your fathers tested me – they put me to the test, although they had seen my works”. “For forty years they wearied me, that generation. I said: their hearts are wandering, they do not know my paths. I swore in my anger: they will never enter my place of rest”.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen."
Praise God!
